We had a delightful conversation with Steve Davies MBE, the Chair of the A1 Locomotive Trust. He shared some fascinating insights into the ongoing developments of the Prince of Wales locomotive!
After the achievement of the A1 Tornado project, the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust initiated its subsequent endeavor in 2013, aiming to construct a Gresley Class P2 locomotive inspired by the original 1934 blueprint. To be named Prince of Wales, the new P2 Class locomotive will operate across the UK and justify the claims that the original Gresley design was Britain’s most powerful passenger steam locomotive.
