Steam Gantry Cranes could regularly be found in goods yards and freight facilities around the UK as early as the nineteenth century. They featured a moveable gantry on rails, from which hung an overhead crane. This Scenecraft model can cover two railway tracks with enough space for a road vehicle, enabling it to depict scenes where goods can be transferred between both rail or road vehicles.
