GWR Brick Signal Box

This kit is a model of a typical GWR brick built signal box with a hipped roof, built between 1896 and 1921. In practice there were many small differences between individual signal boxes as they were often tailored to fit the location, a good example is on the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh. The Ratio Signal Box Interior kit 553 will provide a wealth of interior detail. Supplied with pre-coloured parts although painting and/or weathering can add realism (See the Pecoscene Weathering Powder range PS-360 - 365); glue is required to complete this model. Ratio GWR Brick Signal Box – Manufacturer Part Number 552

The kit is a scale model of a typical Great Western Railway brick‑built signal box with a hipped roof. The design represents structures that were erected between 1896 and 1921, although individual boxes often show small variations to suit local requirements, such as the example on the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh. The model is supplied in OO/HO scale and comes with pre‑coloured components; additional painting or weathering may be applied for enhanced realism, using suitable powders such as the Pecoscene Weathering Powder range PS‑360 to PS‑365. Assembly requires glue.

The finished model measures approximately 90 mm in length by 48 mm in width, giving a footprint of about 90 mm x 48 mm. For interior detail, Ratio offers the complementary Signal Box Interior kit 553, which can be fitted to this box.

All included parts are ready to assemble, but the user must provide adhesive and may wish to apply optional finish treatments.
