Manufacturer description

Ratio OO/HO

Stone Goods Shed

The essential items for all stations until recently was a goods shed. Inside, dry goods were stored and transhipped from road to rail via the internal platform. The shed usually had a crane (Ref 531) or hoist (Ref 543) inside, whilst pallets and sacks (Ref 514) would be seen stacked around the site. A good example of this type of goods shed can still be seen standing in Ross on Wye, long after the railway has disappeared. Supplied with pre-coloured parts although painting and/or weathering can add realism (See the Pecoscene Weathering Powder range PS-360 - 365); glue is required to complete this model. Footprint 155mm x 170mm

Ratio Stone Goods Shed

Manufacturer part number 534. This model represents a typical railway goods shed in OO/HO scale. It measures 155 mm in length and 170 mm in width and is supplied as pre‑coloured plastic parts that require glue for assembly. The kit can be enhanced with weathering powders from the Pecoscene range (PS‑360 to PS‑365) and is sold separately from related accessories such as the crane (ref 531), hoist (ref 543) and pallets and sacks (ref 514).

Historically, the goods shed was a standard feature at stations, providing an internal platform for transhipment of dry goods between road and rail. An extant example remains at Ross on Wye, long after the railway has disappeared. The product forms part of Ratio’s 00 range of building and accessory kits.
