Manufacturer description

In the 1940's the Road Haulage Executive, trading as British Road Service (BRS), was created as part of a remarkable plan to nationalise transport across the UK. BES began to generate its own business as the state run transport system was beginning to suffer. By the 1970s BRS Truck Rental was launched. The fleet of vehicles, with their distinctive red & blue arrowhead logo as featured on this VW van, were soon a common sight across the British road network. This model has the registration GJJ 880N.

Oxford Diecast BRS Rental VW Bay Window Van – 1:76 Scale. Manufacturer part number 76VW018. The model represents the British Rail Blue livery used before the TOPS renumbering system.

The die‑cast vehicle is a replica of a British Road Service (BRS) rental van, complete with the distinctive red and blue arrowhead logo. It bears the registration number GJJ 880N and is presented in an authentic 1:76 (OO) scale.

BRS originated in the 1940s as the Road Haulage Executive, later trading as British Road Service, as part of a plan to nationalise transport in the United Kingdom. By the 1970s the BRS Truck Rental operation had been launched, and its fleet of vans became a common sight on British roads.
