Manufacturer description

The Ribble Motor Company started operating in 1919 and grew into the largest bus and coach operator in the North West. It became part of the National Bus Company in 1969. In 1972 its famous cherry red and cream livery was changed as part of NBC's corporate identity to white on the new single deckers. Our single deck coach is typical of this era, registered TRN 745 but still featuring the Ribble Motor Services name on the rear and their address in Frenchwood, Preston on the side behind the front wheel. The familiar red and blue National graphics are printed on the sides and rear of the vehicle and a final detail sees the coach going to Blackpool as the X55.

Oxford Diecast Plaxton Panorama NBC Ribble is a die‑cast model of a single‑deck coach. The model bears the Ribble Motor Services livery and carries the manufacturer part number 76PAN009. It represents the vehicle in its British Rail blue pre‑TOPS colour scheme.

The original Ribble Motor Company was founded in 1919 and grew to become the largest bus and coach operator in the North West of England. In 1969 it was incorporated into the National Bus Company, and in 1972 the company’s distinctive cherry‑red and cream livery was replaced by a white scheme in line with NBC’s corporate identity for new single‑deckers.

The model is painted in the typical early 1970s style, with registration TRN 745 displayed. The rear retains the Ribble Motor Services name and the side shows the address in Frenchwood, Preston positioned behind the front wheel. Red and blue National Bus Company graphics appear on the sides and rear, and the coach is marked as operating the X55 service to Blackpool.
