Manufacturer description

The Austin Seven was a car designed by Sir Herbert Austin in 1921, in conjunction with a young draughtsman Stanley Edge from the Austin factory at Longbridge. This is a long wheelbase version of the Austin Seven De Luxe RN produced by the Austin Motor Company between 1931 and 1932. The standard model had been introduced ten years earlier and was one of the most popular cars ever produced for the British market, selling around 290,000 between 1922 and final production in 1939. The RN version was 6 inches longer than the standard Austin 7 with a corresponding increase in the rear track and was identified by the body number stamped behind the handbrake opening on the transmission tunnel with the prefix RN. The number plate is - OV8408 - and it comes with black interior except for the door trim which is brown. Externally the trim is mostly black, except for the finely detailed cream coachlines, silver radiator grille incorporating the Austin badge, silver spoked wheels and windscreen wipers.

Oxford Diecast Austin Seven Saloon Westminster Green – 1:76 Scale

Manufacturer part number: 76ASS004. The model represents the period known as the Big Four, referring to the four major British railway companies – LNER, LMS, GWR and SR.

The die‑cast vehicle is a replica of the long‑wheelbase Austin Seven De Luxe RN that was produced by the Austin Motor Company between 1931 and 1932. It is based on a car originally designed by Sir Herbert Austin in 1921, with the RN version being six inches longer than the standard Austin Seven and featuring a wider rear track.

The original Austin Seven was introduced in 1922 and remained in production until 1939, with sales of approximately 290,000 units in the United Kingdom. The model bears the registration OV8408, a black interior with brown door trim, black external trim, cream coachlines, a silver radiator grille with the Austin badge, silver spoked wheels and windscreen wipers.

The die‑cast replica is painted in Westminster Green, the traditional colour used by the London Transport Authority for its vehicles.
