Manufacturer description

In real life, the Aston Martin DB Mark III, was classed as a sports car which the British company made between 1957 and 1959, with only 551 being produced, ensuring its exclusivity. One could buy it as a 2 + 2 hatchback, (the subject of our 1:43 scale model), 2-seater coupe or 2-seater drophead, as modelled here in 1:76 scale. The Mark III was the first model to sport the new radiator grille which would become the hallmark of all Astons from then on. The DBIII also featured another first in its design evolution - a sloping hatchback body.

Decorated in the highly complimentary dark British Racing Green with textured black roof in the down position, our model is registered XGT 506. The interior is black, including the seating, with a tan steering wheel - even the glove box has a tan finish - and black dashboard, complete with detailed instrument panel with silver surrounds to the dial rims. Externally the wheels and the distinctive Aston Martin radiator grille are both given a silver finish.

Oxford Diecast Aston Martin DB2 MKIII DHC Dark British Racing Green is a 1:76 scale diecast model. The model is supplied by Oxford Diecast under part number 76AMDB2002 and is registered as XGT 506.

The vehicle represented is the Aston Martin DB Mark III, a sports car produced by the British manufacturer between 1957 and 1959. Only 551 examples were built, making it a rare model. The diecast version depicts the 2+2 drophead coupé, which was one of the body styles offered – a 2‑seater coupé, a 2‑seater drophead or a 2+2 hatchback in full size. The DB Mark III introduced the now‑iconic Aston Martin radiator grille and a sloping rear hatch, features reproduced on the miniature.

The finish is a dark British Racing Green with a textured black roof when the roof is down. The wheels and the distinctive grille are presented in a silver colour. The interior is finished in black, with a tan steering wheel, tan glove box trim and a black dashboard. The instrument panel displays detailed dials with silver surrounds on the rims.

The model represents the period identified as British Railways Late Crest. It is intended for collectors and display, offering a faithful reproduction of the original car’s exterior and interior details.
