Manufacturer description

The K8 (3 Way) Van commenced production in 1947 and the van cost £535. It earned the name 3-Way due to the door configuration. To assist loading and unloading, it featured double doors on the near and offside, as well as opening near doors. With a payload of 25 cwt and a short wheelbase, it proved a very nippy vehicle for delivery purposes. The van was discontinued in 1954, by which time over 26,500 had been manufactured. Decorated in pale cream and crimson with the British Railways logo on the sides, above the windscreen and also along the back, this Austin K8 was registered NXW 134. Additional black and silver masking completes the detail and note especially, the minutely detailed Austin lettering as well above the rear bumper.

Period represented: British Railways Late Crest

The model depicts the Austin K8 (3‑Way) van which entered production in 1947 at a price of £535. It was known as a 3‑Way because of its door configuration: double doors on the near‑side and off‑side and a set of opening near‑side doors for loading. With a payload of 25 cwt and a short wheelbase the vehicle was noted for its nimble handling. Production ceased in 1954 after more than 26,500 units had been built.

The diecast replica is finished in pale cream and crimson, bearing the British Railways logo on the sides, above the windscreen and along the rear. It carries the registration NXW 134 and includes black and silver masking, fine Austin lettering on the rear bumper and other period‑accurate detail.
