Hornby Southeastern Class 395 ‘Visitor Centre’ is a ready‑to‑run model of the British Rail Class 395 “Javelin” electric multiple unit. The model represents the current era and is built to a 1:76 scale, using the Hitachi Class 395 coach design (MSO – Motor Standard Open) originally manufactured at Hitachi’s Kasado Factory in Japan between 2007 and 2009. A total of 29 units were produced for the real‑world operator Southeastern.
The model finishes are described as “Pristine” and the predominant livery is Highspeed Blue. Four running numbers are available: 39131, 39136, 39132 and 39133. Units 39131, 39136, 39132 and 39133 each feature a 5‑pole skew‑wound motor and a minimum curve radius of 2nd radius (438 mm). Units 39133 additionally carries the South Eastern Trains livery, a directional lighting set, and power is collected via a power‑bogie only.
All four variations are DCC ready with an 8‑pin socket, allowing use with digital command control systems. The model’s manufacturer part number is R3813. It is intended for display in a Hornby Visitor Centre setting or for private collection.
