Since the mid 1800’s the UK has seen post boxes adorning its streets, but they were very different then. It wasn’t until Queen Victoria's reign that a standard design was settled on. The ‘Type B’ pillar box was derived from the ‘Anonymous’ design, and has, with very little changes, stayed the iconic piece of street furniture we see today.
