Manufacturer description

Clark Railworks Finescale OO Gauge C1000Z WD 2-10-0 Austerity, WD Khaki Green ‘73755’ 'Longmoor' Preserved

Specific Locomotive History

Built for the Ministry of Supply in April 1945 and delivered as number ‘73755’ with works number 25601. ‘73755’ was a standard 2-10-0 but happened to become the 1000th British built locomotive transported to Europe to support the rebuilding since ‘D’ day. Initially shipped to Calais with other members of the class, they were temporarily surplus to requirements and placed into store.

After the locomotive had finished its active career with the WD it was sold to the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (Dutch Railways) and given the number ‘5085’. The loco was active until withdrawal in 1952, when it was preserved, and now resides in the Nederlands Spoorwegmuseum in Utrecht.

Our model represents the loco as it can be seen today in the museum.

Ellis Clark Trains OO Gauge C1000Z WD 2‑10‑0 Austerity, WD Khaki Green ‘73755’ “Longmoor” Preserved – DCC Sound is a finescale model of the Ministry of Supply locomotive number 73755, built in April 1945. The model is presented in the khaki green livery worn by the preserved locomotive on display at the Nederlands Spoorwegmuseum in Utrecht.

The original locomotive was the thousandth British‑built engine shipped to Europe after D‑Day. After service with the War Department it entered Dutch Railways as number 5085, was withdrawn in 1952 and subsequently preserved. The kit reproduces the locomotive as it appears in the museum.

The product is supplied in OO gauge with the manufacturer part number C1000ZS. It features a die‑cast boiler, smokebox and chassis, a brass and plastic tender, an injection‑moulded cab with fine detail, a high‑quality coreless motor and individually fitted pipework and fire‑box glow. All axles are fitted with brass bearings and metal cylinder liners. The model is DC/DCC ready, includes working sprung screw‑link couplings, sprung buffers, left‑hand and right‑hand drive options and a plug‑and‑play Next‑18 DCC harness. Factory fitted DCC sound versions are also available.

Pricing is £295.00 for the DCC ready version. The DCC sound version is listed at £395‑£425, subject to confirmation. The model is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2025.
