The British Rail Class 122 is a type of diesel multiple unit which operated primarily on the London Midland, Scottish and the South-Western Regions of British Rail between 1958 and 1995. Twenty single car driving units or bubble cars and ten trailer vehicles were built by Gloucester RC&W in 1958 and six survive into preservation. In 1980 the Scottish Region Class 122 were converted to carry parcels and reclassified as Class 131, although the cars themselves were not renumbered

The British Rail Class 122 was a diesel multiple‑unit that operated mainly on the London Midland, Scottish and South‑Western regions of British Rail from 1958 until 1995. A total of twenty single‑car driving units (bubble cars) and ten trailer vehicles were built by Gloucester RC&W in 1958; six examples survive in preservation. In 1980 the Scottish Region units were converted for parcel use and re‑classified as Class 131, although the individual cars retained their original numbers.

The Dapol model includes a finely moulded body with separately added details, accurately applied livery, and cast wheels with fine relief and appropriate colouring. It is DCC ready and DCC fitted models are available, featuring a tungsten chassis, NEM pockets as standard, independently controllable directional lighting, and Dapol’s five‑pole skew‑wound Mega creep motor for smooth running and fine speed control.
