We are delighted to present the Branchline BR Mk2F First Open Coach in BR InterCity ‘Swallow’ livery for the first time which was unveiled in our Summer 2021 British Railway Announcements.
The state-of-the-art Branchline Mk2F is the perfect canvas for the popular InterCity ‘Swallow’ paint scheme and this new coach will create the perfect formation when coupled with our other Mk2Fs in matching ‘Swallow’ livery. Not only is this model highly detailed and beautifully decorated, but it also features DCC-controlled lighting with interior lights plus door interlock lights and optional tail light which can be set to be constantly lit or flash for a fully immersive operating experience. Analogue users can also enjoy the interior and tail light features when power is applied.

Bachmann Branchline BR Mk2F First Open (FO) coach in British Rail InterCity “Swallow” livery, model number 39‑653DC. The OO‑scale model is DCC fitted, has a pristine finish and carries the running number 3403. It represents the British Rail sectorisation era and was unveiled in the summer of 2021.
The coach measures 270 mm in length and uses an NEM coupling with close‑coupling pockets. It features interior lighting, door‑interlock lighting (operable when fitted to DCC) and optional tail lamps that can be set to remain constantly lit or flash. All lighting is controlled via the integrated DCC decoder, whilst analogue users can operate the lights with easy‑access switches.
The model is intended for use with other Mk2F coaches in matching “Swallow” livery to form complete InterCity formations. It is supplied with an accessory pack and conforms to Era 8 specifications for British Railways rolling stock.
